Try a new twist on lasagna or ravioli with this easy family-friendly Baked Ravioli with Beef dish. Be sure you use quality ingredients when choosing the ravioli and sauce. I typically pull out a prior frozen container of my homemade sauce. By picking those ingredients right this dish becomes super simple and absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
- 1 pound 85-90% lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon EVOO
- 1 (14oz) can of diced tomatoes
- 1 jar or 14oz tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (20-oz.) pkg. fresh-made refrigerated cheese ravioli (smaller size – not too big)
- 1 (5-oz.) pkg. baby spinach
- Handful of fresh basil
- 1 cup of shredded fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup torn fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Preheat over to 450 degrees
- Crumble the beef into a large skillet and cook through over medium high heat
- Drain the beef and stir in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes
- Spread 1/3 of the meat and sauce mixture into a 7×11 baking dish. Next, layer with the ravioli, 1/2 the cheeses, 1/2 the spinach. Make another of ravioli and cheeses, ending with the sauce mixture.
- Bake in the oven for 30 minutes
- Finish with parmesan cheese and the fresh basil and serve
